Abstract: The in-service training programme is pivotal in a teacher's profession. Effective professional development programmes are known to make a difference in the teaching competency and improvement in the classroom teaching. The main aim of the study was to evaluate the training programmes conducted by DERT and DIET of Meghalaya, for the last five years. The result reveals that the teachers were updated with new teaching pedagogy which is beneficial in enhancing their teaching competencies.
