Abstract: Nigeria is one of the countries with highest U5MRs in the world. North Eastern Nigeria where Borno state is located has highest under-five mortality rate in Nigeria. The country has been making efforts to reduce under-five mortality especially since the year 2000 millennium declaration. However, progress has been too slow to meet the 2015 goal of child mortality reduction. The objective of the study was to examine the parental factors that determine under-five mortality rate in Borno State. The Multistage Sampling Method was used to draw a sample of 370 ever married women in the reproductive ages from six local government areas in the three senatorial districts in the state. The period of study covers the five year period between 2009 and 2013. Logistic Regression was used to determine the parental factors which had the most effect on under-five mortality. Parental factors considered in this study are maternal education, maternal employment status, kind of work she does, as well as paternal education..............

Abstract: The study of ethics is a constant endeavor to analyze, examine, and scrutinize human behavior for the purpose of steering people towards the proper moral values. The primary purpose of this paper is to present a review of two major ethical paradigms namely: Teleological ethics and Deontological ethics. A narrative review of the relevant papers related to the study of ethics and moral values was conducted. The importance of ethics and moral values in personal and social life is self-evident; the quest for noble and higher moral values is an attempt to create and establish a better life. This paper provides a modest review of one of the two most influential ethical theories in the modern history. This paper offers an opportunity for novice researchers in the area of ethics to grasp and understand some of the basic foundations of Teleological & Deontological Ethics.

Abstract: Employees in Kenya including police officers are increasingly showing acute signs of burnout. It is widely acknowledged the world over that policing is one of the most stressful of professions. Cases of death through shooting or suicide have been reported, and have lately been on the increase. Frontline police officers often have to confront traumatising incidents almost on a daily basis which can lead to psychological and emotional disturbance. Officers and the public they serve need to be wary of high levels of anxiety, which can be handled through expanded, effective coping strategies such as workplace counselling. This paper advances a multidisciplinary approach to the provision of counselling psychological services for the police service in Kenya using the hermeneutic phenomenology approach...

Abstract: This paper, based on longitudinal public opinion surveys conducted between September 2006 and April 2012, argues that though the majority of Nepali people still ignorant toward federalism, a significant number of the public prefer a federal form of governance in the country. This segment of the population transcends over those who prefer a unitary form of governance by a significant margin. In addition to it, the public‟s support toward federalism is growing while the support toward unitary system is diminishing. The surveys also reveal that the public‟s support for the federal state is larger than that for the unitary state in all ethnic groups. This paper also investigates the underlying relationship among public opinions on different state restructuring issues, and establishes............
