Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic amplified existing gender inequities, disproportionately impacting women's lives. This essay examines the pandemic's effects on their work, healthcare access, vulnerability to violence, and rising alcohol use. In the workplace, women faced job losses, reduced hours, and amplified childcare burdens due to school closures, jeopardizing their economic security and career advancement.
