Abstract: A global survey on the sexual situation of widows reveals that there is a general infringement on widows‟ sexuality in many traditions and cultures. The aim of this study was to ascertain the prevailing cultural perception on widows‟ sexuality. Interview and Focused Group Discussion schedules were used to collect data from respondents. The findings were descriptively presented as narrated themes. This study established that traditional Abanyole perception of widows‟ sexuality which is characteristically male-centered stigmatizing females is rife. The study recommends that Abanyole engage the culture in light of contemporary realities to avert female subjugation that characterizes widow sexuality.

Title | : | The Art of Shakespear's Sonnets(Helen Vender 1999) |

Abstract: This book is a great achievement, the work of an author with an almost devout passion for good poems, a passion that the academy has not succeeded in killing."—Frank Kermode, The New Republic"From time to time, a work of criticism appears that promises to inaugurate a new phase of the art… Roland Barthes, Paul de Man, Stephen Greenblatt: each heralded, in different ways, a paradigm shift in critical practice. And now Helen Vendler…makes a bold attempt to change criticism again. Her ambitious chef d‟oeuvre, the fruit of decades of memorizing and meditating on Shakespeare‟s Sonnets, significantly takes the form of a critical commentary… She has chosen her topic strategically. The Sonnets is the supreme lyric masterpiece in English, yet, although often edited, it has been neglected critically, as if too challenging and demanding, too dangerous for direct response. Yet Vendler‟s originality goes further. For she has decided to return criticism to the study of art; to the sort of response that leads to appreciative evaluation rather than manipulation… The rapid adumbration of Shakespeare‟s variety is as brilliant as anything Vendler has written. But in commenting on each individual sonnet in turn............

Title | : | The Doctrine of Samavāya in Nyāya-Vaiśeṣika System |
Country | : | India |

: | 10.9790/0837-2211092126 |
Abstract: The doctrine of inherence (samavāya) is one of the most striking speculations in the history of philosophy. Most of the systems of Indian philosophy reject the doctrine of inherence. However, the doctrine of inherence occupied a crucial position in the realistic ontology of the Nyāya-Vaiśeṣika system. Inherence or samavāya is the relationship between two entities that cannot occur separately, in other words, it is an intimate relation between two things which are inseparable. However, the relation in Indian philosophy plays an essential role. Nyāya-Vaiśeṣikas with Prābhākaras and Bhāṭṭas accept the real existence of a relation. And without the reality of relation, it is not possible to gain knowledge. The concept of the relation is of utmost importance to maintain the relation between the substrates (dharmi) and properties (dharma). Of the seven categories accepted by the Vaiśeṣikas the sixth category is samavāya, and it is a relation. However, there are some qualities which are also relational viz., conjunction, disjunction, number and separateness. In the Nyāya system, the conception of the relation is objectively real.1.............
