Abstract: In Nigeria, the administration of Pensions had a great turn around with the advent of the 2004 Pension Reforms Act. This reform phased out the old pension scheme (Non-contributory pension scheme-NCPS, otherwise known as Pay-as-you-Go), due to its attendant bottlenecks, and established a new one (Contributory pension scheme-CPS) with great improvement and large benefits. However, the take-off of the new scheme was not without skirmishes and other difficulties; more so, the remnants of the NCPS are still on with much reduced outcry of its earlier difficulties. Therefore, this study, comparatively analyzed the performances of the CPS and the NCPS in selected Management Development Institutes (MDIs) in Nigeria on the basis of accessibility and transparency of the schemes amongst others. The study‟s sample size was determined using proportionate sampling.......

Abstract: In her autobiography, Unbowed: A Memoir, Wangari Maathai displays a close relationship between the present culture and nature. Maathai‟s ideology is evident as she theorizes on global environmental justice, political ecology, postcolonial politics, and explores the intersectional ties among environmentalism, anticolonial struggle, and social justice. The aim of this paper is to provide an eco-critical reading of Wangari Maathai‟s autobiography. The studyapplied the theories of Autobiography, African Feminism, and Autobiographics to show that the choice of particular narrative strategies is influenced by the relationship between context, gender and genre. From a close reading of the text, the study established that Wangari Maathai has structured Unbowed: A Memoir as a rhetorical and linguistic means of argumentation, and she turns her whole body of writing into a single.........

Abstract: Natural resources form an integral part of society all over the world as sources of income, industry, and identity. Developing countries tend to be more dependent on natural resources as their primary source of income, and many individuals depend on these resources for their livelihoods. It is estimated that half of the world's population remains directly tied to local natural resources; many rural communities depend upon agriculture, fisheries, minerals, and timber as their main sources of income. Apart from being key drivers of sustainable livelihoods, resources can also be a remarked source of conflict both within and without of the communities who have been known to co-exist peacefully. This paper is focused on identifying the types of resources found in Turkana land, how they can be mobilized and managed in order to improve the Turkana community's pastoralist livelihoods and also the papers seeks to analyze the cause or the source of conflict faced in their mobilization and how they can......
